GIORNATA PER IL FESTIVAL DELLA PACE BRESCIA 2025 – EUROPA

Each participant can make one or more 50×50 cm squares and sign their name on the front. The squares will then be sewn together into 100×100 cm blankets, which will be laid side-by-side to cover the platform in Piazza della Loggia in Brescia on November 23, 2025.

OBJECTIVES

  • Engage and raise awareness around the ideal of unity, solidarity, and harmony among peoples by asking: “What connects us?”
    A proposal for reflection based on the idea that change begins with ourselves.

 

  • Strengthen ties with Brescia’s twin cities: Betlemme, Darmstadt, Kaunas, Logroño, and Troyes to help us build a Shared Goal.

 

  • Donate the proceeds from the fundraiser to “Tutti in TRAP” – a project of ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia. Programs for girls and boys aged 12 to 21 to prevent substance abuse and behavioral addictions.

HOW

Yarn will be provided by Viva Vittoria OdV at the MO.CA – Center for New Cultures, Via Moretto 78, Brescia, thanks to the support of Lane Mondial Spa.

CALL TO ACTION

  • Help us make one or more squares and add your signature.
  • Pick up the free yarn and leave your contact details (phone, email, organization name).
  • Use your preferred knitting or crochet technique.
  • Follow the measurements (50×50 cm).
  • Deliver your square to Mo.Ca
  • Come help us sew the blankets at Mo.Ca
  • Participate in the setup on the event day.
  • Make a donation and take home a blanket during the event.

FAQ

What yarn can I use?
Only the yarn provided by Viva Vittoria and donated by Lane Mondial Spa.

How many colors can I use for my square?
All six blue tones, or just one, two, etc.

Recommended needles/hooks?
Size 4 knitting needles or crochet hook.

Can I add words or flowers on my 50×50 square?
Yes, but only using the six shades of blue.

Can I sew the squares at home?
No, they will be sewn together at MO.CA.

Can I help sew at MO.CA?
Yes, we need your help.

A blanket for every new born.

The project aims to combat child poverty in the Brescia Est neighborhoods, by coming into contact with families and presenting the program to them.
The creative energy of VivaVittoria will contribute to the project with the realization of the blanket with wool supplied by Cauta. The blankets will be donated to each new born in the Brescia Est neighborhoods

Are you ready to create blankets with us to welcome newborns?

• Come to Mo.Ca, collect the wool provided free of charge by Cauto (you can only use this) and leave your details.

• Knit or crochet a 65×80 cm blanket or a 25×25 cm square with the wool you collected, following your personal pattern or one provided by Viva Vittoria.

• Join working groups or create your own group.

• Deliver the squares or blankets to Spazio Viva Vittoria.

• The blankets made will be donated to the new born as part of the project dedicated to early childhood. They will be delivered inside cloth bags made by the group of women of “Ricuciamo la Solidarietà” of Brescia Est.

Macarons project

Caring gently

After the 2017 Race for the Cure, Viva Vittoria returns alongside Komen Italia to raise awareness on the fight against female cancers.
The idea is to create objects that evoke sweetness, to accompany women’s everyday life with a joyful and positivity message.
Nascono così i Macarons, realizzati all’uncinetto dalle mani esperte delle nostre volontarie. This is how Macarons were born, crocheted by the expert hands of our volunteers. Beautiful and colorful in all shades of pink, they have an extra value: they contain the message full of life of those who created them.
This is Viva Vittoria, a generating force full of hope.

The proceeds will be donated to the creation of “Rosa come la Seta”, an information and support project dedicated to the relationship life of women in Rosa, treated for breast cancer and gynecological diseases.

Bici tour & Pic Knit

We organized the Bike Tour & Pic Knit for World Knitting Day in public

Many people joined the Bike Tour that from Piazza Vittoria winded through the center of Brescia to the Santa Giulia museum: here, in the Viridarium garden, we gave life to the colorful Pic Knit animated by ideas, projects and thoughts while our industrious hands have created knitted items in a thousand colors.
The proceeds of the day, equal to € 1,200, were donated to Associazione Dieci di Ono San Pietro.
