what is viva vittoria
A RELATIONAL SHARED WORK
The intention is to share with as many women as possible the idea that violence can be stopped by starting with ourselves, by the knowledge that we decide our lives.
THE MESSAGE
The moment each woman understand her own value, she automatically becomes the creator of her own existence and she is able to bring about change in herself and in society. Knitting, a metaphor for self-creation and self-development was chosen as the tool to realize this project.
It proved to be a perfect medium because it consists in a widespread and easily learnt creative mode, which in all adults reconnects to familiar images, it brings out memories and creates an attitude of encounter and relationship.
VIVA VITTORIA HAS CREATED RELATIONSHIPS:
IN BRESCIA, IN THE PROVINCE, IN ITALY AND IN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD
Thousands of women took part in the c creation of knitted squares. The project exerted a transversal appeal and involved people from all walks of life, cultural, religious and political backgrounds. It brought together people who adhered to a shared common goal, realizing that ideal unity capable of overcoming separatism, individualism and particularism.
